Impella, World’s Smallest Heart Pump

Dr. Adhir Shroff, assistant professor of cardiology and director of the cardiac catheterization lab at UIC introduces a tiny new heart pump, called the Impella, which makes possible the treatment of patients for blocked arteries who might have previously been considered too ill to undergo the procedure.
