Concertina Effect or Accordion effect during Angioplasty

Concertina or Accordion effect is the appearance of artefactual or pseudo-lesions during coronary angioplasty ( PTCA ). Its caused by partial straightening of tortuous coronary artery by a stiff guide wire.
